The Billing Clerk, as part of the health care team, provides excellent customer service for patients in person or over the phone. The billing clerk completes assigned billing work queues and billing data entry, posts payments, re-works denied billings, works with patients to resolve outstanding balances, completes special projects, and performs clerical and billing duties. The billing clerk is responsible for developing respectful, professional relationships with patients that assist them in meeting their financial obligations to FHC. The billing clerk works in a fast-paced environment and displays a friendly manner, a commitment to service, strong decision-making skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. Requires high school or GED, computer skills, medical billing experience, excellent customer service skills, and a desire to work with a low-income, diverse population. FQHC Medicaid and Medicare billing experience a plus.
